Food Safety Training Providers
Food safety training teaches restaurant and cafeteria workers how to keep food safe from the moment it arrives, to when it is served. Courses range from short 5-hour classes for new supervisors—like the Person In Charge (PIC) program—to a full 16-hour course with an exam at the end. These required trainings help workers follow local health department rules and understand basic food safety habits. Most importantly, food safety training gives workers and businesses the tools and education to help protect customers from getting sick from foodborne illnesses.
The Warren County Health District now partners with the OSU Extension office located in Lebanon, Ohio to provide food safety training courses throughout the year that satisfy the requirements in the Ohio Food Safety Code for both the person in charge certification in food safety (formerly known as Level 1 training) and the manager certification in food safety (formerly known as Level 2 training).
